The International Congress Centre is a facility serving exhibition and conference functions. The designers' primary objective was to integrate it with the other, formally powerful buildings of Katowice's so-called "cultural axis"—the NOSPR, the Katowice Cultural Center, and the Silesian Museum. The black cuboid is bisected by an almost deconstructivist "green valley"—a vantage point and a green passageway that reflects the course of the former road to Bogucice.
