The two towers of the .KTW office building fill the site formerly occupied by the District Directorate of State Railways Office Building, a 1960s high-rise. They draw on the city's modernist tradition and fit into Katowice's so-called "cultural axis," constituting a spatial dominant feature without overshadowing the buildings of the NOSPR, the MCK, or the Silesian Museum.
